Shorewood Village Board Moves to Upgrade Information Systems

At a recent meeting, board members approved a measure that could eliminate some or all of the paperwork in many Village of Shorewood departments.

No more paperwork.

That could be the end result of a decision by the Shorewood village board to develop a custom mobile and web geographic information system that will be used in a number of departments, including public works, according to a Sun-Times News Group report.

The village approved a $136,000 contract with Ruettiger, Tonelli & Associates, a Joliet engineering and design firm, to improve the functionality of the village's existing GIS platform, according to the report.
