The Lowe Down Shorewood Rewind

Rob Lowe is going to star in the movie they're making on my book "Fatal Vows," and that is the most important thing to happen this week.

The big news this week was Rob Lowe and how he is going to star in the movie they're making about my book, Fatal Vows: The Tragic Wives of Sergeant Drew Peterson.

As the title suggests, Fatal Vows is about Drew Peterson and the women he loved and married, and may or may not have killed.

And now there's going to be a movie about him. Starring Rob Lowe. How about that? Life is funny sometimes. Especially when you consider what Rob Lowe looks like, and what Drew Peterson looks like, and the job the makeup man or woman is going to have to do every day just to get to the point of suspension of disbelief.

While the developments with Fatal Vows were undoubtedly the most monumental happenings around here this week, there were a few other things going on too. Let's take a look at some of them in the SHOREWOOD REWIND:

Sunday

Mavs take the Heat

And it's a good thing too. We were getting worried the last week or so. Not only are we happy that the Heat lost, but with their defeat the Patch Sports Department finally got something right, betting $20 at the beginning of the season that somebody — anybody — would be champion other than Miami.

Monday

Everyone wakes up to same personal problems they had before while Lebron James continues to live the way he wants to live

Good for him.

More Monday

Ken Kaupas and the case of the Clandestine Cadillac

The Shorewood Patch reported that Ken Kaupas, one of the top-ranking officials in the sheriff's department, who also happens to be the cousin of the sheriff, parked his county-provided Cadillac in the lot of the Jefferson Street Walmart in Joliet, popped in to buy some reading glasses, and when he came out, couldn't find the car. Figuring some car thief absconded with his county Cadillac while he was inside the Walmart shopping right in the middle of the work day, Kaupas sounded the alarm and about 10 city police officers answered the call. Not only were the Joliet officers quick to respond, but after an intense, hour-long search they tracked down Kaupas' missing Cadillac. Right where he left it.

Tuesday

Rob Lowe to play Drew Peterson

That's right — in the movie they're basing on my book Fatal Vows: The Tragic Wives of Sergeant Drew Peterson.

Tuesday Too

Kohl's koming

It looks like a Kohl's department store will be in Shorewood.

Thursday

It's on

Former prosecutor Dave Carlson, who has a private law practice in Joliet, announced that he intends to run against Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow in the 2012 election.

Friday

Alley pickup

Alley was the Will County Humane Society's Shorewood Patch . She's still at the shelter, so stop by, pick her up and give her a home.
