Troy Township Issues Resident Advisory on Ordinance Violations and Fines in Unincorporated Areas

Violations of these ordinances vary from $35 to $250 with an additional court cost fee if you are required to appear at an adjudication hearing.

Troy Township Supervisor Joseph D. Baltz and Highway Commissioner Thomas R. Ward wish to advise residents that within the past few months Will County adopted a resolution which allows the Will County Sheriff’s Office, Land Use Department, Health Department, and Animal Control Department to issue citations for ordinance violations.

Please be advised that these agencies have begun issuing citations in your area.

The Will County Sheriff’s Office has asked us to educate our resident’s regarding the enforcement of the following ordinances:

  • Parking opposite direction of traffic
  • Parking across a sidewalk
  • Parking within 20 ft. of crosswalk at an intersection
  • Parking within 30 ft. of a stop sign
  • Fireworks
  • Burning
  • Noise
  • Curfew

Violations of these ordinances vary from $35 to $250 with an additional court cost fee if you are required to appear at an adjudication hearing. The hearings for the Sheriff’s Office are held the second Tuesday of each month at the Will County Office Building, 302 N. Chicago Street, Joliet. Violations are payable by cash, check, or credit card.
