Shorewood welcomed home Marine Matt Muentnich with open arms this weekend.
The gave a warm welcome home to Marine Matt Muentnich this weekend.
Muentnich was deployed to Afghanistan in May. He survived two roadside bomb attacks while serving in that war-torn country, and the village planned a reception to honor him when he finally got to come back home.
The Illinois Patriot Guard Riders began the welcome, and community members, friends and supporters lined up at the Home Depot near the intersection of Route 59 and Black Road for the event.
