Update: Will County Courthouse, County Offices Closed

The decision to close the courthouse on Monday was made by Chief Judge Richard Schoenstedt.

The Will County Courthouse in downtown Joliet and all county offices are closed because of the weather.

County offices opened Monday morning, but were closed at noon.

This note was posted online by Will County Circuit Clerk Pam McGuire in reference to the courthouse closure:

PURSUANT TO THE CHIEF JUDGE OF WILL COUNTY, EFFECTIVE ONLY FOR  JANUARY 6, 2014, THE WILL COUNTY CIRCUIT COURTHOUSE AND ALL AFFILIATED BRANCHES WILL BE CLOSED DUE TO HAZARDOUS WEATHER CONDITIONS.
