Home Sales up Slightly in Shorewood from Sept. 2012-13

The median sales prices of Shorewood homes sold in September 2013 didn't change from September 2012.

The 17 single, detached homes sold in Shorewood during September 2013 represented a 21.4 percent increase over September 2012, when 14 homes were sold, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe).

Median sales prices in Shorewood were stagnant, coming in at $240,000. 

In the southwest suburbs listed, Lemont experienced the most significant increase in sales over the same period last year, with Channahon and Romeoville also seeing big jumps. Romeoville also had the greatest percentage increase in median sales price, up 40.4 percent.

Overall, September 2013 sales in the Chicago suburbs were up 30.7 percent compared to the same time last year. The median sale price for detached homes increased 12.6 percent from the previous September, and the number of homes under contract rose by 30.4 percent
