JCA Holds Open House Sunday

Joliet Catholic Academy will be holding the first of two Open House sessions this Sunday.

Experience the tradition — the tradition that is Joliet Catholic Academy.

A college preparatory high school for boys and girls, JCA will be holding its annual Open House on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Wednesday, Dec. 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Open House allows prospective students and families to tour JCA, highlighting various departments. Current students, faculty, staff and administrators will be on hand to answer questions.

Information on academics, athletics, clubs, activities and organizations will be available as well as information on financial aid, applications for Franciscan and Carmelite scholarships and much more.

JCA, a school immersed in traditions reflecting the Carmelite and Franciscan values, is in its 142nd year serving the communities of Will, Grundy, DuPage, Kendall, Kane and Cook counties.

Class of 2011 accomplishments include a 29.4 ACT mean for the honors program and a 25.6 ACT mean for the top 50 percent of the class. Ninety-one percent of the college scholarships were offered for academics and 99 percent of JCA graduates are pursuing higher education.

Since 2000, JCA has won nine state championships, including five in football, three in volleyball and one in baseball while the Angels and Hilltoppers also appeared in the Final Four seven other times.

Eleven of 40 private schools in the Chicagoland area saw increased enrollment for the 2011-2012 school year, and JCA ranked in the top 4 of schools in increased enrollment.
