JCA Sports Wrap: Angels Move to 13-0 in Volleyball

Emily Schoenstedt, Morgan Reardon and Kelly Feigh paced Joliet Catholic Academy past Marian Catholic in volleyball, while the cross country teams traveled to Ohio for the Midwest Catholic Championships.

Sixteen stars.

That is how Joliet Catholic Academy coach Christine Scheibe looks at her volleyball roster, and several of them shined Thursday night in a rock-solid 25-17, 25-16 road victory over East Suburban Catholic Conference foe Marian Catholic.

“I had a teacher ask me the other day, ‘Who is your star?’” Scheibe said. “I told him, ‘They all can be stars.’ We don’t have one player with 14 kills. We always have four or five players with 4 or 5 kills.”

“The girls jumped out to leads and were able to control the play,” Scheibe said. “Reardon’s hitting was exceptional in Game 1 and Schoenstedt had a great service run in Game 2. Overall, the girls were solid.”
