Registration for incoming freshmen at Joliet Catholic Academy will be Thursday, Feb. 23, from 6:30-8 p.m.

Joliet Catholic Academy, a college preparatory high school for boys and girls, has saved a seat for you. Registration for incoming freshmen will be held Thursday, Feb. 23, from 6:30-8 p.m.

Academic excellence is the standard set at JCA. The Class of 2011 recorded an ACT mean score of 23, with the top 50 percent scoring 25 or better and the honors program scoring a 29.4.

The Class of 2011 also earned an average of $43,000 per student in college scholarships, with 91 percent awarded for academic achievement. The Class of 2011 included 28 Illinois State Scholars and a National Merit Commended Student. Ninety-nine percent of JCA graduates go on to college.

At JCA, excellence in education is combined with faith in action. While English is a four-year requirement and math is a three-year requirement, JCA is a trend-setter for religious studies as the first high school in the Diocese of Joliet, which includes , to require four years of theology. JCA follows the curriculum guide approved by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

JCA’s award-winning extracurriculars include nine state championships since 2000. Melissa McCarthy, a 1988 graduate, a 2011 Emmy Award winner and a 2012 Oscar nominee for Best Supporting Actress, walked these very same hallways.
