Shorewood's Bolek Homecoming Queen At JCA

Joliet Catholic Academy culminated its homecoming week with a teacher makeover and the naming of its King and Queen.

Homecoming week at Joliet Catholic Academy culminated at halftime of last Friday night’s football game with Malin Jones of Naperville and Brittany Bolek of Shorewood being named King and Queen.

Jones, the son of Earl and Dolores, and Brittany, the daughter of Robert and Stephanie, were crowned at the homecoming dance Saturday night in the Student Activity Center.

The all-senior court was paired as follows:

  • Isaac Grashoff of Plainfield and Katelyn Gannon of Shorewood.
  • Brody Wilhelmi of Lockport and Carley Serena of Shorewood.
  • Jones and Kelly Feigh of Plainfield.
  • Mike McGrath of Joliet and Julia Malinowski of Shorewood.
  • Adrian Nunez of Joliet and Mary Paluch of Joliet.
  • Alex Rubocki of Joliet and Jillian Hickey of Oswego.
  • Brett Wilson of Joliet and Bolek.

As part of homecoming week, JCA held a block party and a homecoming pep rally. There was also a parade that began at JCA ended at Joliet Memorial Stadium.

Faculty members Amy Douglas, Staci Gue, Celeste Mackey, Tina Osburn, Barbara Powers, Christine Scheibe and Debra Witmer also were candidates for a free hair-and-makeup makeover. Students voted during their lunch periods. The reveal was held at the pep assembly.
