Troy School Board Candidate: Kristin Ethridge

County employee Kristin Ethridge vies for a seat on the Troy board.

  • What is the primary reason you are running for this office?

As an active community member and a cancer survivor, I am dedicated to serving its residents to my fullest potential. Our community needs a representative that is responsive to the people and is a good steward of the taxpayers' dollars.

  • What will be your single most important priority if you get elected?

I will watch your tax dollars are spent properly and prudently, utilizing the budget for current priorities. We need to have taxpayer's money spent for the students-not carelessly on items or services that benefit neither the school district nor the community.

  • What sets me apart from other candidates?

My belief that the fiscal health of the district is the #1 priority, which ensures that our school district continues to improve.

  • What is the biggest problem in Troy?

The biggest problem is and will continue to be less revenue realized through taxpayers' dollars. There is no growth in our community and we live in a state that is going broke all the while our  district needs continue at current levels and it needs to continue to improve.
