WJOL's Scott Slocum Scores Big for a Good Cause

Joliet radio host hits half-court shot for Guardian Angel Community Services.

Connecticut defeated Kentucky to win its fourth NCAA title Monday, and a Joliet organization also won big.

During the big game, four basketball fans at Hollywood Casino got the chance to try to sink a half-court shot for $10,000.

No one won the big money, but WJOL on-air personality Scott Slocum also took his best shot — and he made it. The half-court basket earned him $2,500 for the charity of his choice.

Slocum donated the money to Guardian Angel Community Services of Joliet, an organization that works to help victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, educates at-risk children and provides a foster care program for abused and neglected children.
