Actually the Bears salary cap situation for this year was pretty tight so they really could notRead More commit too much money to Urlacher. The whole "Bears are cheap" is a thing of the past. From the outset of free agency Urlacher had a number in mind that would get him back with the Bears for a 14th season, and maybe a slightly higher number to go play elsewhere. $2 million is a lot of money. However Urlacher is already set for life. Is an extra $2 million, which is a huge paycut for what he has earned annually over his career, worth the risk of another year of constant hitting and risking permanent injury? That was his stance going in to free agency. He made the right choice. I look forward to seeing him in the game on other ways in the future.

He is retiring because no team wants him. It was fun to watch him play, but his time is over. AndRead More I hope that he doesn't get much TV time, as he is not a very engaging or intelligent speaker. Either way, I do hope that he is happy and that he enjoys his retirement.

"they could have ponied up alot more $-especially when you look at how physically destroyed aRead More player is after a long career." He chose to become a footballer player knowing the physical risks.

Teach your kids what your heart tells you is right. Those of us involved in MMA do the same. YouRead More are not at all out-of-date; you just view the world differently. We are both right -- from our own perspectives. It's OK to be different. If Freak saw your children in danger of ANY kind, he would protect him with his life. He would protect you with his life. That's who he is. That's why we esteem him. My kids are very active in SUDA MMA and are not violent. They're not angry. They're not lashing out. They're learning discipline and skill. They're learning to respect themselves and their opponents. They love Freak (Jimmy). They love the Hill brothers. They love SUDA. I love the SUDA family and am proud to be part of it. Come and join us. See what it's about. You won't see violence. You'll see discipline and hard work, with a lot of laughter included. Connie

Matthew-I am so proud of you! Doing what you love and winning a championship all in one. Your boysRead More are everything you said they are: hard working, diligent, dedicated and more. Hi Champs - Jared, Tyler and Mekhi - I am so proud of all of you. Just like I was when Coach MatthewRead More was your age. I feel I know you because Matthew speaks so highly of you and your families, all the time. I have been following your meets & after all your wins & practices. It is evident that you boys work more than a team, but as friends & brothers. You have dedication that cannot be matched. You put all your strength into gymnastics, physically and emotionally. You live gymnastics as your passion. It is amazing to me at your ages, that you have a goal that could lead to scholarships &career. I teach high school & have used your example of endurance for my 16 year olds to reach success in whatever they want to do in life. Each of you have a specialty on the gym floor, and you blend that together to be winners! Keep your faith together and always stay friends. Congratulations to all of you and your parents and family. I don't have enough words to compliment you. I am also proud of my son, Matthew. You are his daily joy in life and coach Matthew is my daily joy in life. Have a wonderful, unforgettable time in Orlando. You deserve all the recognition you recieve. Love, Coach Matthew's mom.

I would absolutely still be a Bears fan. Who cares about the sexual orientation of the players? ItRead More is absolutely none of my business. I would applaud the courage it took to come out, given the climate of our society.

Well said Gail. Funny thing is, some would actually call what you just said racist.
