Concert in the Park with Accordionist Bob Doszak

Joliet resident Bob Doszak will perform at the Timbers of Shorewood's monthly 'Concert in the Park' series on Saturday, June 16.

Bob Doszak will perform for residents and the public at “Concert in the Park” from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at The Timbers of Shorewood retirement community, 1100 N. River Rd. Everyone is welcome to listen, to polka and to enjoy the evening air. Doszak was born and raised in Joliet, IL, to Slovenian and Polish parents which helped instill his style of music. The neighborhood in which he grew up consisted of mostly Slovenians, Croatians and people of Polish descent. Across the street from his childhood home was a tavern that always echoed of polka music. Accordionist Puts Squeeze on The Timbers

Accordionist Frank Rossi will perform at The Timbers of Shorewood.

Frank Rossi will entertain residents and the public from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday at The Timbers of Shorewood, 1100 N. River Road, Shorewood. Rossi plays a Roland RD 300 SX digital piano and both an Italo American and an Imperial accordion. His favorite accordion players are Manny Quartucci and Mike Alongi. Recently, Rossi was named the 2010 recipient of the Order Sons of Italy Leonardo da Vinci Award of Excellence in Performing Arts. At the age of 7, he began his studies on the accordion under the late Al Rush at Symphony School of Music in Chicago Heights. Then he won a first place trophy at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield, and he’s been hooked on the accordion ever since. After graduating with a double major in Finance and …

Accordionist Frank Rossi Puts Squeeze on The Timbers of Shorewood

The accordion show is tonight!

Frank Rossi will entertain residents and the public with his accordion at 6:30 tonight at The Timbers of Shorewood retirement community, 1100 N. River Road in Shorewood. At the age of 7, Rossi began his studies on the accordion under the late Al Rush at Symphony School of Music in Chicago Heights. Then he won a first place trophy at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield, and he’s been hooked on the accordion ever since. After graduating with degrees in finance and management from Eastern Illinois University, he decided to continue his passion — the study of music. Rossi began private lessons from the late accordion and piano great Ed Baldacci from whom he learned harmony and advanced techniques. Currently, Rossi plays a Roland RD 300 SX …
