James Engelhardt, accused of touching the young girl while she slept, was arrested and charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, Joliet police said.
A Joliet man accused of sexually touching a 13-year-old girl while she slept has been arrested by Joliet police and charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Officers called to break up a family fight Thursday night learned the man being attacked, James A. Engelhardt, 25, of 819 Clement St., had allegedly fondled a young family member while the two were watching television on March 1, Cmdr. Rich Demick said. The girl had fallen asleep on a couch when Engelhardt began massaging her leg and vaginal area, Demick said. Theodore Edwards, charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, also had the victims touch him sexually, Joliet police say.
A Joliet man who allegedly fondled two young girls and had them touch him sexually was arrested Monday on a charge of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, Joliet Police Cmdr. Rich Demick said. Theodore Edwards Harris, 39, of 330 S. Joliet St., is accused of having sexual contact with the victims, who are now 11 and 15 years old, on numerous occasions in 2011, Demick said. Harris is described as a family member of the victims. Harris was arrested Monday night at his residence. Demick said the case took a long time to pull together because detectives want to ensure there were no other victims and because Harris was not a threat to other potential victims while serving a prison term at Shawnee Correctional Center at the time the allegations …

Joliet police said they believe the incident, which involved a 14-year-old male touching the young boy's penis and having the boy touch him, only occurred once.
A 14-year-old boy has been arrested for inappropriately touching a 4-year-old and persuading the young boy to touch him, Joliet police said. The incident took place at about 1:30 p.m. Dec. 29, and was reported to police on Dec. 30, after the victim told his mother about the sexual contact, Cmdr. Rich Demick said. The victim was interviewed through the Will County Child Advocacy Center and told a child psychologist that the teen had touched his penis and had instructed him to touch the suspect's penis, Demick said. It was a single episode that occurred at the victim's house, and police do not believe the child had been molested previously, he said. Police arrested Luis Loza, who is accused of allegedly having sex with a teenage girl for than two years, according to charges.
A 25-year-old Joliet man who allegedly had sex with an underage girl several times over a two-year period has been arrested by the Joliet police. Luis Loza, of 214 Madison, was booked into the Will County jail Wednesday on three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to Will County State's Attorney's Office spokesman Charles Pelkie. The Class 2 felony charges state that Loza had sex and other forms of sexual contact with the victim, who was identified only as a girl between the ages of 13 and 17. If convicted, each charge carries a prison sentence of three to seven years. Pelkie said their information indicates that the sexual abuse began on June 28, 2010, and continued through Aug. 15, 2012.
