Benefit for Slain Mom-to-Be Planned for Saturday at Toyota Park

Family says it needs money for Alisha Bromfield's headstone, and travel to Wisconsin for the upcoming trial. Saturday night's event features dinner and music.

The family of slain mom-to-be Alisha Bromfield is hosting a benefit Saturday at Toyota Park in Bridgeview to raise money to pay for a headstone and the family's travel to her accused killer's trial. Bromfield died Aug. 19. Brian M. Cooper, 35, is charged in Door County, WI, with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Bromfield, 21 and her unborn daughter, who was to be named Ava Lucille. He is also charged with third-degree sexual assault. Cooper and Bromfield, both of Plainfield, met while working together at a Shorewood business. Unbelievable how people complain about the cost of a ticket for a good cause. It was 30 bucks in advanced and 35 at the door. It included a full buffet style meal, pretty much all you can eat, and the food was top-notch and fresh!
