Sign Stolen from Salon Offering Free Cuts for Cancer Victims

Salon David Anthony wants customers to know that despite the missing sign, they are still doing free haircuts for cancer survivors through the end of October.

After Joliet Patch wrote about Salon David Anthony offering free haircuts for cancer survivors two weeks ago, anonymous donors came forward to help and a steady stream of customers were taking them up on their offer. However, the numbers dwindled last week after someone stole the sign reading "Free cuts for cancer survivors all month" outside the business, salon co-owner Anthony Roy said. He and co-owner David Schmidt want people to know they are still offering free haircuts to survivors of any kind of cancer until the end of the month. And they are hoping that their sign gets returned. No questions asked. Despite the sign being stolen, Roy said they've seen a great deal of support for their free cuts campaign.
