Man Accused of Driving 142 MPH Gets Community Service, Supervision

Police charged Dean A. Suominen of Shorewood with driving under the influence of alcohol after he drove his car off the road and into a billboard post and fence in Naperville last year.

A Shorewood man accused of driving 142 mph and crashing his car into a billboard post in Naperville last year pleaded guilty Tuesday to reckless driving and misdemeanor DUI charges Tuesday, Chicago Tribune reports.  Get news in your inbox. One-Car Crash Causes Delays on Interstate 80

The crash in the westbound lanes caused one lane to close for about 20 minutes

A one-car crash on Interstate 80, just east of the Houbolt Road, closed a westbound lane of traffic for about 20 minutes Monday morning, the Illinois State Police said. The accident occurred at about 8 a.m. when a driver swerved off the road whne the vehicle in front of him slowed down, Master Sgt. Martez Malone said. "(The driver) went too slow, veered to the left and struck a guardrail," Malone said. No one was injured in the crash. The car was towed from the scene.   Get news where you live. Three Injured in Joliet Crash

Three people were taken to the hospital

Three people were taken to area hospitals Friday morning after a two-car crash. The accident happened at around 8 a.m. at Raynor Avenue and Jefferson Street, a Joliet Fire Department official said. Both cars were towed from the scene.

Police: Shorewood Man Charged with DUI After Driving Car Into Fence

Naperville police said they charged Dean A. Suominen of Shorewood with driving under the influence of alcohol after he drove his car off the road and into a billboard post and fence.

A Shorewood man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving too fast for conditions, after police said he drove his car into a billboard post and fence early Tuesday morning. Naperville police and fire departments responded to the 500 block of Chamberlain Avenue after someone called 911 to report a vehicle had driven into a structure just before 1 a.m. Tuesday. When emergency personnel arrived, they found an orange 2008 Dodge Charger in a yard off the roadway. Dean A. Suominen, 36, of 513 Ca Crest Drive in Shorewood, was trapped inside the vehicle, had to be extricated and was taken to Edward Hospital, where he remained as of early Tuesday afternoon. The initial investigation suggests that Suominen was driving east …
