Tammy Anderson has been on the phone pretty much nonstop since Tuesday. She has called all the area shelters and veterinarians trying to locate her cat Snickers. She also blanketed the area around Amberleigh Estates, where she lives, with fliers. "I’ve been doing everything I can think of short of knocking on everyone's door," Anderson said. The Anderson family adopted Snickers from the Will County Humane Society. When the cat first arrived, she was not spayed, and when she went into heat, she escaped the house. The family quickly got her spayed, but the cat still managed to get out. The cat is a year and a half old and is the color of a Snickers bar, for which she is named. The cat is microchipped. We know Twin Rails Pub is relatively new in Minooka. So, maybe you have not had a chance to try the food yet. But we did. On Monday, we told you that we liked everything we ordered. Kids who attended Spring Break camp at Three Rivers Arts Council will be performing for the community.
It is a small cast. Nine children to be exact, who are between the ages of 6 and 13. But, in one small week, they have learned all of the aspects of theater. From what it takes to build a set to what it takes to act on a stage, the children have been immersed in the business. "Ta-Tanisha's program is fantastic," Amy Hayes, executive director of TRAC said. "She covers all aspects of production. The camp is the first of its kind at TRAC, which took over the old Minooka Fire Protection District station on Mondamin Street. Hayes said the cooperation of the district makes programs like this one possible. "They've been very supportive," she said. TRAC will be hosting a grand opening of its gallery space this summer. Construction on the interchange that will create an exit to Interstate 80 between Ridge Road and Route 47 continues on schedule.
The Brisban Road Interchange project is the result of an intergovernmental agreement between three entities - Channahon, Morris and Grundy County. Eventually the area will be an interchange with traffic signals located along Route 6. "By the end of the summer, they are hoping to have the ramps done," Channahon Village Manage Joe Pena said. Currently, traffic patterns along both Interstate 80 and Route 6 include lane shifts. When completed, the area will be targeted for development by the village of Channahon. "We're certainly going to be out looking to bring some business there," Pena said.
