Channahon Police are warning residents that between noon and 4 p.m., Nov. 8, Dresden Generating Station will be testing a new boiler. "This will create a lot of steam and noise, but no public danger," Channahon Police said in a written release. If residents have any questions, they are asked to call 815-467-2112. Dresden Station is located in at the head of the Illinois River in Grundy County.
The alarm will sound on Saturday morning, but the plant is running a drill.

Beginning at about 8:30 a.m., Saturday morning, the Dresden Station will be conducting a fire drill, Grundy County Emergency Management is reporting. As part of this fire drill, the plant siren will be activated. Dresden Station is located in Grundy County, at the head of the Illinois River. More information about the plant can be found here.
