Chicago police said Alex Reyes was intoxicated when he drove into a police car and a light pole, causing the death of a Cicero man.
A Joliet man was reportedly intoxicated when he drove head on into a Chicago police car Friday night and then knocked down a light pole, killing a passenger in his car, Chicago police said. The accident occurred at about 11:20 p.m. in the Austin neighborhood on Chicago's West Side, according to a story in the Chicago Tribune. Alex Reyes, of the 3100 block of Nantucket Drive, was charged with reckless homicide, aggravated DUI involving death and aggravated DUI involving bodily harm. He was also cited for driving while his license was suspended and not having insurance, police said. His passenger was Anthony Camarillo, 18, of Cicero, who was thrown from the car and pronounced dead at the scene, the story said.

The former White Sox pitcher and Baseball Hall of Famer was arrested in October after being found asleep in his vehicle that was driven into a New Lenox field.
Carlton Fisk, the one-time White Sox great who was found passed out behind the wheel in a New Lenox field three months ago, pleaded guilty Thursday to driving under the influence. Fisk has agreed to pay $1,250 in court costs and was sentenced to one year's court supervision under the plea deal approved by Will County Judge Bennett Braun, a story published by the Chicago Tribune said. He must also undergo an alcohol abuse evaluation and meet with a panel of people who have had family and friends killed by drunken drivers, the story said. Reports state Timothy Engelman was also ticketed for no insurance and traffic signal violation after his vehicle was stopped for the traffic violation.
Timothy A. Engelman, 37, 955 Mason Ave., Joliet, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol at 12:22 a.m. Nov. 22 at Route 52 and S.E. Frontage Road, Shorewood police said. Reports state Engelman was also ticketed for no insurance and traffic signal violation after his vehicle was stopped for the traffic violation. Engelman posted bond and was released with court information, police said.

Lisa Jolin, 39, of Channahon, was arrested on charges of DUI and improper lane use after she crashed her car into a light pole on Route 6 at Fryer Street on Saturday night. Tiffany Unland, 30, of Coal City, was charged with two counts of aggravated driving while under the influence of alcohol, Charles Pelkie, Will County State's Attorney Spokesperson said. "The charge used to be called reckless homicicde or they used to call it vehicular homicide," Pelkie said. But, now the charge is aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol. It is a class 2 felony charge, the same as reckless homicide and carries a penalty of 3 to 7 years in prison “It is the equivelant of a reckless homicide charge," Pelkie said. Unland was arrested following a fatal car crash on August 31 in Channahon that killed 46-year-old Anthony B. Calhoun, whose last know address was in Palatine.

The Shorewood cops wacked some weed, police said.
A blown stop sign led to three men getting arrested on drug charges, police said. Christopher Shanine, 20, of 21005 S. Benjamin Drive in Shorewood was pulled over about midnight near the intersection of Kaylee Street and Shorewood Lane for allegedly disobeying a stop sign. And to make things even worse for Shanine, not only did he take a ticket for the stop sign, he got arrested on charges of possession of cannabis and possession of drug equipment. A Shorewood man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving too fast for conditions, after police said he drove his car into a billboard post and fence early Tuesday morning. Naperville police and fire departments responded to the 500 block of Chamberlain Avenue after someone called 911 to report a vehicle had driven into a structure just before 1 a.m. Tuesday. When emergency personnel arrived, they found an orange 2008 Dodge Charger in a yard off the roadway. Dean A.
