Joliet Woman Killed in Crash on Center Street
The Joliet women's children were also injured in the Tuesday night wreck at Center and Division streets.
A Joliet woman was killed in a two-car collision on Center Street Tuesday night. Jessica Jefferies, 33, was pronounced dead in the Provena St. Joseph Medical Center emergency room at 9:18 p.m. Jefferies two children, ages 8 and 4, were taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox. They suffered minor injuries, police said. Jefferies T-boned a car driven by a Joliet man heading north on Center Street about 8 p.m., police said. Jefferies was driving west on Division Street and stopped for a stop sign, police said. She then either attempted to turn left or to cross Center Street, and collided with the northbound car.
