Science Fair is a Highlight of Catholic School's Week at Holy Family

The students were offered an opportunity to show their school spirit, support the less fortunate, and welcome visitors with pride to their school.

The students were offered an opportunity to show their school spirit, support the less fortunate, and welcome visitors with pride to their school. The week’s festivities included a spelling bee, a science fair, penny wars, a pep rally, and a parent vs. eighth grade student basketball game. The open house held on Tuesday gave prospective families an opportunity to learn more about Holy Family’s curriculum, meet the faculty, and observe classes in session. Holy Family Participates in Toy Drive to Benefit Pediatric Hospital Patients

The Mark Staehely toy drive provides pediatric hospital patients with new toys during Christmas.

Editor's note: The following is a press release from Holy Family Catholic School. Holy Family Catholic School students participated in Mark Staehely's 12th annual Christmas Toy Drive in December. Sue Staehely, Mark's Mom, and Roger Damyen visited the school Dec. 3 and spoke to the children about Mark's battle with cancer, and the toy drive that he began before he died. They explained that Mark began collecting toys for children in the hospital while he was ill. The Mark Staehely toy drive provides pediatric hospital patients with new toys during Christmas. Shorewood's Holy Family Hosts 3-on-3 Alumni Turkey Shoot

Teams represented alums from the classes: ’97, ’05, ’07, ’09, ’10 and ‘11.

Holy Family Catholic School Alums avoided the mall on Friday, Nov. 23, by participating in Holy Family’s first annual 3-on-3 Alumni Turkey Shoot. Old classmates formed 10 teams, and gathered to play basketball at their old stomping ground: the Holy Family gym. Home of the Eagles, the gym hosted these teams with original names like: Threemendous, Butterballs, TurDuckin, Lil Ballers, Moe’s Boys, Assassins, Weave to a Layup, Monstars, Craig’s team, and Three Little Indians. The teams represented alums from the classes: ’97, ’05, ’07, ’09, ’10 and ‘11. Those in attendance were entertained by the teams’ enthusiasm, the nostalgia, and the announcing by the school’s former athletic director, Jim Maloney. The Butterballs were awarded Sports …
