I'm sure they were in there partying. Getting drunk, blowing lines, feeling on that booty. Lol all that teenage fun stuff.   more ›

Spring Fever Shorewood Rewind

We've got a fever, and the only prescription is more Shorewood Rewind.

Spring is in full swing. We love spring. And we love Shorewood. And we especially love Shorewood in the springtime. We love Shorewood so much that we want to show you all the things going on there that make it lovable. So let's do that. Join us, if you will, for another SHOREWOOD REWIND: Immortals was Shorewood's favorite movie rental. It was tax day. Meghan Moreno of Shorewood was the runner-up in a prestigious contest and was honored for her good works. House Hunt! Jewel was the Readers' Choice this week. Svengooli is coming to a Slammers game in July.

Appealing Shorewood Rewind

Well, maybe not so appealing to Drew Peterson.

So the big news this week was the appellate court judges finally coming back with a decision on the Drew Peterson case and — what do you know — they're allowing all the hearsay evidence prosecutors want to use against the serial marrier and alleged wife killer. But that wasn't all that happened here this past week. Let's look at some of the other events that shaped our lives as we take you on yet another SHOREWOOD REWIND: We let you know about the retired judge's son up on a pretty heavy heroin charge. The Shorewood village board greenlighted the purchase of a snow plow, street sweeper and lawn mower. House Hunt! The reputed "drifter" charged with a Troy Township murder appeared in court for his arraignment.

Happy Easter Shorewood Rewind

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter, Shorewood, to all of you from all of us here at the Shorewood Patch. We don't want to bother you too much on this holiday, but we thought we'd take a moment to look back on all that happened in Shorewood last week. We do this every week, holiday or not, and we call it the SHOREWOOD REWIND: Happy April Fools' Day! Shorewood has a new favorite movie. Dave Wilson didn't care much for Wrath of the Titans. Meghan Moreno of Shorewood is a finalist for a prestigious national award. House Hunt! One of Drew Peterson's buddies got in a jam.

Can't Be Killed Shorewood Rewind

We're still alive in our tournament pool.

We got beaten up pretty good this weekend. To be honest, we didn't make out so great last weekend either. But the thing is, we're still alive! That's right, we're still in contention in our NCAA pool. Is it because we're lucky? Is it because everybody else is as bad at picking winners as us? Or maybe, just maybe, we can't be killed. Just like Jason Voorhees. No matter what happens to us, we just keep on coming. Right through the finals, when we get all the money. Now let's look at all the things we missed in Shorewood while we were distracted by the tournament: Shorewood loves Jack and Jill. Shorewood's own Jack McGuire triumphed in the primary, which probably wasn't that big a deal since no one was running against him. The Shorewood town …

Joliet Township Chihuahua Shorewood Rewind

Stuff like that doesn't happen in Shorewood.

In Shorewood, you don't have the authorites kidnapping Chihuahuas for fear that otherwise they will become the victims of state-sanctioned murder. No, we'll leave that kind of thing to our neighbors to the east. Good old J-town can take care of all the dognapping and alleged intent-to-dog-killing for the rest of us. They're welcome to it. And that's because we have plenty going on right here. Let's take a look at what was going on just this week with another SHOREWOOD REWIND: You want to know a good nail place in Shorewood? Well, we have one for you. The village figured out a way to save thousands of dollars in sign-changing expenses every year. The village started mailing out property tax rebate checks. The NCAA Tournament started. House …
