Joliet Man Busted for Soliciting Western Springs Teen for Sex: Police

Kevin Ethridge, 47, thought he was having an online relationship with a 15-year-old girl but was, in fact, exchanging notes with a police investigator.

A Joliet man who made sexual overtures to someone he thought was a 15-year-old girl was arrested last week by the Western Springs Police Department. Kevin Ethridge, 47, of 1025 Magnolia Ave., was charged Thursday with indecent solicitation of a child following an investigation that began in September 2012. A Western Springs police investigator, posing as a 15-year-old girl in an ad on Craigslist, started having a series of online conversations with Ethridge, who began soliciting “indecent liberties,” police said. Joliet Man DUI in Fatal Crash: Chicago Police

Chicago police said Alex Reyes was intoxicated when he drove into a police car and a light pole, causing the death of a Cicero man.

A Joliet man was reportedly intoxicated when he drove head on into a Chicago police car Friday night and then knocked down a light pole, killing a passenger in his car, Chicago police said.  The accident occurred at about 11:20 p.m. in the Austin neighborhood on Chicago's West Side, according to a story in the Chicago Tribune. Alex Reyes, of the 3100 block of Nantucket Drive, was charged with reckless homicide, aggravated DUI involving death and aggravated DUI involving bodily harm. He was also cited for driving while his license was suspended and not having insurance, police said. His passenger was Anthony Camarillo, 18, of Cicero, who was thrown from the car and pronounced dead at the scene, the story said.

Update: Child Porn Suspect a Trinity Resident

Chris Crichton was arrested for allegedly taking photos of a naked 4-year-old boy and keeping it on his computer, Will County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer said.

Update/posted 1:25 p.m. Feb. 5: A Joliet man described as a mentally disabled Trinity Services resident was charged with aggravated child pornography for taking photos of a naked 4-year-old boy, Will County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer said. A Trinity Services employee saw the photos on Chris Crichton's computer and contacted the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services on Jan. 10, Hoffmeyer said. The sheriff's department was called in to investigate on Jan. 18, and a warrant for Crichton's arrest was issued Jan. 30, she said.
