O'Hare or Midway—Which Do You Choose?
O'Hare ranked last in a group of the nation's busiest airports at on-time arrivals and departures in February, but do you still prefer it over Midway?
We’ve all been there. You’re planning a trip. You’re thinking of booking your flight, but where do you want to fly out of—O’Hare or Midway? If February’s stats for on-time arrivals and departures are any guide, O’Hare should probably be your Plan B. According to a report from the Chicago Tribune, O’Hare ranked dead last among the country's busiest airports for punctuality in February. A mere 63 percent of flights left O’Hare on time, and only 66 percent arrived on time, the Trib reported. Comparatively, Midway runs like a Swiss watch. About 83 percent arrived on time and 73 percent departed as scheduled for the month, according to the report. Read the full Tribune report here.

About two years ago Southwest added up to 30 minutes (depending on the flight destination) onto its arrival times so they wouldn't constantly be recorded as late. Since Southwest has 90% of the gates at Midway, the percent of ontime flights out of Midway is much larger than O'Hare's.
