It's Back to Business on Route 59
Construction is complete along Shorewood's main commercial corridor.
Steve Kolliopoulos remembers the feeling of victory. The owner of Matty's Grill & Pancake House was looking out his windows at Route 59 near Black Road. As Kolliopoulos watched the construction crews removing the last road barricades, he knew he was a winner. "When you make an investment you need to protect it; otherwise you'd be a loser," Kolliopoulos said. "I was watching out there; the workers were picking up the last of the barricades. I was so happy." When Kolliopoulos opened the doors of Matty's last spring, road construction on Route 59 was in full force.
