Merchants and Manufacturers Bank in Channahon played host once again to Santa's helicopter arrival.
From 9:45 a.m. to noon Dec. 8, Merchants and Manufacturers Bank in Channahon brought the Christmas spirit to the village. This included the yearly tradition of Santa Claus flying in by helicoptor. Have any photos of the events on Saturday? Upload them to this post and share them with everyone.

These guys may not really be so bad, but would you want them coming down your chimney or showing up in your house with a sack?
It's the day after Christmas, and that always has those of us here at the Shorewood Patch feeling a little down. But probably not as down as these guys. You can't blame them, of course. How up can a guy get when he's got some jailer taking his picture just before he's packed off to a cell? We don't imagine a guy in those circumstances could get very up at all. No, not very up at all indeed. At least none of these gentlemen got arrested on Christmas itself. Not the last time we checked, anyway. If you've got wit, add your punchline to Patch's weekly comic and win a personalized proof.
Are you blessed with insight and good humor? Or just bored today? Share your wit with your southwest suburban neighbors by entering Patch's comic caption challenge. Just add your dialogue for today's comic in the comment section of this post. Our only requirement is that you keep it clean! At week's end, we'll pick the winning punchline based on how many of us here at Patch giggle and smile at your contribution. The user who produces the winning punchline will get a personalized proof of the comic, with the winning words and a credit line, from cartoonist Chuck Ingwersen and Patch. Congratulations to Hayley B, who provided the winning punchline to last week's comic: I'm tired of always doing all the work and this guy getting the credit…

An army of police officers swarmed Target with an even bigger group of children for the fourth annual Shop With A Cop. A dozen Shorewood police officers escorted 23 local school children on a shopping excursion through the store and then returned with them to Village Hall for a pizza lunch from Canella's and a chance to have a photograph taken with Santa Claus. Shorewood Police Officer Kim Giugler started the Shop With A Cop program and continues to organize it, along with Shorewood Recreation Supervisor Linda McCluskey. Residents from Shorewood Glen volunteered to gift wrap the children's purchases and the King and Queen of The Timbers of Shorewood — Tom Putnam and Ann Schurna — were on hand to help give out Christmas cookies and …
