"Immortal" was the hit movie in Shorewood this week.
You know what Redbox movie rental was tops in Shorewood this past week? Well, we'll tell you. It was Immortals. We haven't seen Immortals so let's throw it back to Redbox to see what they say about it: "The brutal and bloodthirsty King Hyperion and his murderous army are rampaging across Greece, demolishing everything in their wake with ruthless efficiency. Village after village falls to Hyperion's legions and each victory takes him one step closer to his goal: unleashing the power of the sleeping Titans to vanquish both the Gods of Olympus and all of humankind. It seems nothing will stop the evil king's mission to become the undisputed master of the world, until a stonemason named Theseus vows to avenge the death of his mother in one of …

"The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" has got Shorewood again.
So The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is Shorewood's favorite Redbox movie rental for a second week in a row. We at the Shorewood Patch don't know what this says about Shorewood, Redbox or movie rentals, but we do know that we read the book. It was atrocious. We also saw the Swedish movie. It was really bad. In fact, and we don't admit this to a lot of people, but we read the second book too. And guess what — SPOILER ALERT — it was horrible. But whatever. Here's the list:

Shorewood's got a new favorite Redbox movie rental.
The Redbox top 10 list for Shorewood is a fickle thing. It's hard to explain how some movies cling to the No. 1 spot for so long whilst others vanish from the top of the chart after a stay of only a week. Puss in Boots was one of those movies. Here today, gone tomorrow. It was replaced by Hugo, which Shorewood Patch in-house movie critic Dave Wilson reviewed not too long ago. Here's Dave's take: "When I first saw the previews indicating that Martin Scorsese was producing and/or directing a kids’ movie, I was pleased. After all, Marty has been responsible for some of the great cinematic masterpieces of our lifetime. Who wouldn’t want to see an absolute master, the guy who brought us Taxi Driver, Goodfellas and The Last Waltz, stretch out …

After three weeks in the top spot, "Colombiana" Falls out of favor in Shorewood.
It was a nice run while it lasted, but it never lasts forever. Colombiana lost its stranglehold on the top spot of Shorewood's most favorite Redbox movie rental after three weeks in first place. And what movie knocked Colombiana off its perch? You know what, we'll tell you. It was The Hangover Part II. And it sent Colombiana plummeting all the way down to No. 5. So Colombiana and The Hangover sequel are 40 percent of Shorewood's five favorite movies? Well, everything's relative. Here's the list:

"Super 8" took the top spot in the Redbox Shorewood top 10 this week.
We've got a new No. 1 in Shorewood this week and it's Super 8. We weren't sure what Super 8 was all about so we looked it up on Redbox. Here's what they said it was all about: "In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth - something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined." We'd give that one a try. But we want to rent Our Idiot Brother first. Here's the list:
