Lifetime posted huge numbers in the first quarter of 2012, and the Drew Peterson movie was a big reason, according to television website TheFutonCritc.com
Drew Peterson: Untouchable, the smash-hit movie based on the critically acclaimed true crime sensation Fatal Vows: The Tragic Wives of Sergeant Drew Peterson, by Joseph Hosey (me), was a driving force in the Lifetime network's incredibly strong showing in the first quarter of 2012, says the website TheFutonCritic.com. TheFutonCritic said Lifetime "posted major growth in viewership among the key demographics in First Quarter 2012 versus First Quarter 2011," and pointed to Drew Peterson: Untouchable as a big reason: "Lifetime was the quarter's #1 basic cable network for movies among Women 25-54 and Women 18+ across total day and the debut of Drew Peterson: Untouchable, starring Rob Lowe, was the #1 movie telecast across basic cable among …

Last week started out big.
The Giants are going to the Super Bowl! They made it, even though the last step before the big game was a tough fight with the 49ers. It went to overtime, and Kenny Williams' kid gave the Giants the break they needed with his second fumble. And now New York's got the Patriots again. You couldn't ask for a more anticipated match-up. But you could ask what this has to do with Shorewood. Well, we'll tell you what this has to do with Shorewood. What this has to do with Shorewood is nothing. And we don't care. Because the Giants are somehow in the Super Bowl. And we like their chances. So there you go. Here's some other stuff that happened last week: Drew Peterson's lawyers are going to try to have the accused wife-killer's murder trial moved …

It looks like Drew Peterson's legal eagle Brodsky might have to ask for the murder trial to be moved to a different planet.
Drew Peterson: Untouchable smashed ratings records Saturday night and secured its place in the annals of television history, according to TV by the Numbers. An unbelievable 5.8 million viewers tuned in to the Lifetime original movie based on the true crime sensation Fatal Vows: The Tragic Wives of Sergeant Drew Peterson by me (Joe Hosey). Here's what TV by the Numbers had to say: "In its world premiere Saturday night, the Lifetime Original Movie Drew Peterson: Untouchable, starring Golden Globe® and Emmy® Award nominee Rob Lowe and Kaley Cuoco, generated record viewership, averaging 5.8 million Total Viewers, making it cable’s most watched original movie in the demo in two years since Lifetime’s The Pregnancy Pact on January 23, 2010. …

What impact will "Drew Peterson: Untouchable" have on the accused wife-killer's criminal case?
The eagerly anticipated world premiere of Drew Peterson: Untouchable has come and gone. The country sat rapt for two hours while this dramatic masterpiece unwound on television screens everywhere. It was marvelous. But now what? Well for one thing, the lawyer who goes around telling everyone he's the "lead attorney" on Drew Peterson's defense team has taken a page out of the CBS news playbook, according to the Chicago Tribune, and plans to ask for Peterson's murder trial to be moved out of Will County. That makes a lot of sense, since Will County is the only place in Illinois where people can watch Lifetime, the network broadcasting Drew Peterson: Untouchable, or something along those lines. The Tribune quotes lead attorney Joel Brodsky as…

You can't touch us.
As usual, tons of amazing things went down in Shorewood last week. But one amazing thing overshadowed them all. That one thing, of course, was the world premiere of Drew Peterson: Untouchable. It was really something to behold. The movie debuted last night and it was incredible. There's nothing really else to say about it, but that's not going to stop us from saying some more anyway. So we're going to do just that. Let's start by looking at last week with another SHOREWOOD REWIND: Shorewood Patch movie critic Dave Wilson reviewed Drew Peterson: Untouchable. He said there were a lot of mustaches, but it still could have used more. The Chicago Tribune reviewed Drew Peterson: Untouchable. They did a much better job than that hack Roeper. Rob …

The Daily interviewed director Mikael Salomon about the making of the movie based on the book "Fatal Vows: The Tragic Wives of Sergeant Drew Peterson."
The Daily sat down with Mikael Salomon, the director of Drew Peterson: Untouchable and got his take on the making of the movie, along with his thoughts on Mr. Untouchable himself. "I thought, 'What a creep this guy is,'” Salomon said in The Daily interview. "You know how it is, in your private life, you make your own judgment, which of course you can’t in a medium without getting in trouble." Salomon also marveled at how Peterson seemingly "could stick his foot in his mouth so publicly and in such an obnoxious fashion" and noted the former Bolingbrook cop and accused wife-killer, who is played by Rob Lowe, is "obviously a chauvinistic pig." The world premiere of Drew Peterson: Untouchable, based on the true crime sensation Fatal Vows: The …

CBS reported that Saturday night's world premiere of "Drew Peterson: Untouchable" may force the upcoming murder trial to hit the road. Or something.
CBS reporter Mike Puccinelli broke a story speculating that the new Lifetime movie Drew Peterson: Untouchable just might give the accused wife-killer's lawyers the leverage they need to haul Peterson's murder trial out of Will County and over to some venue without access to even basic cable packages. Puccinelli even got CBS legal analyst Irv Miller to confirm that yes, Drew Peterson: Untouchable could be the moving truck that will carry the Peterson trial out of Joliet and deliver it to a jury in a land without televisions. According to the CBS report, Miller "says the release of the film will poison the jury pool and possibly give the defense attorneys grounds to ask that the trial be moved." Yeah, that's exactly what Miller says about …

Maybe Chicagoist doesn't need to drink to have a good time, but it looks like it's going to anyway.
The world premiere of Drew Peterson: Untouchable — based on the critically acclaimed true crime sensation Fatal Vows: The Tragic Wives of Sergeant Drew Peterson by Joe Hosey (me) is set for 7 p.m. Saturday on Lifetime. And if that wasn't enough, to make your Saturday night even more special, Chicagoist has unveiled a drinking game to play during the movie. Here's what Chicagoist said: "As you know, we’ve been looking forward to seeing Drew Peterson: Untouchable, the Lifetime movie adaptation of the still ongoing saga of the Bolingbrook cop with disappearing wives. It’s based on the 2008 book Fatal Vows: The Tragic Wives of Sgt. Drew Peterson by Joliet Herald-News reporter Joseph Hosey, and we're interested in how (the movie) deals with …

Rob Lowe apparently has the inside track on Peyton Manning's retirement.
Rob Lowe, the star of Drew Peterson: Untouchable, has tweeted that Peyton Manning's calling it quits. Here's Lowe's tweet: "Hearing my fave, #18 Peyton Manning will not return to #NFL. Wow. #Colts" And here's what Deadspin had to say about it: "We'd tell you to be wary, after Jermaine Dupri mistakenly reported that Dwight Howard to the Nets was a done deal, but this is Rob Lowe. He's so handsome." The world premiere of Drew Peterson: Untouchable, based on the true crime sensation Fatal Vows: The Tragic Wives of Sergeant Drew Peterson, by me, is set for 7 p.m. Saturday on Lifetime.
The Chicago Tribune touched on "Untouchable."
The Chicago Tribune reviewed Drew Peterson: Untouchable and put together a well-thought-out, compelling critique. "You come to this prepared to laugh, because of (Rob) Lowe, because of Lifetime, because of what our public reaction to Peterson came to be," says the review, which was written by Steve Johnson. "But despite a lurid trailer that made the rounds, this is no piece of inadvertent high camp." Johnson's piece went on to detail the sad specatcle of Peterson, which was captured in the movie. "What was horrible about the Peterson saga was the way the man's public buffoonery — the fifth fiancee, the proposed radio-show dating contest, the Blagojevich-like need to appear on TV — threatened to obliterate the memories of two women. …
