Police: Crest Hill Woman’s Death Ruled a Homicide

89-year-old Dorothy Dumyahn died Sunday before her Caton Farm Road home was set on fire, officials said.

An 89-year-old woman found early Sunday in her burning Caton Farm Road home was murdered, Crest Hill police said Monday. Deputy Chief Ed Clark said the death of Dorothy Dumyahn is being investigated as a homicide. READ: 89-YEAR-OLD WOMAN DIES IN CREST HILL FIRE Clark was tight-lipped about the circumstances surrounding Dumyahn’s death, but Chief Dwayne Wilkerson said it appears the elderly woman was murdered, and the fire was set to conceal the crime, according to the Herald-News.
