Bug-Infested Broccoli Served at Troy School

School district officials said the vegetable was pulled immediately from the Joliet school's lunch menu when the situation was discovered.

Bug-infested broccoli being served to students at Troy Middle School in Joliet was immediately pulled from the cafeteria menu upon being discovered Friday, school district officials said. An adult who spotted the situation alerted cafeteria workers at the 5800 W. Theodore St. school, Troy School District 30C Supt. Don White told the Joliet Herald News. It's not known if it was consumed by any of the students, he said. “There’s potential that we could have served it to kids,” White said. “Some of them eat broccoli.” Parents were notified of the situation. The vegetable was only served during teh seventh-grade lunch period, White told the newspaper. DON'T MISS THE LATEST JOLIET NEWS. SUBSCRIBE TO OUR FREE DAILY NEWSLETTER FOR A SLIGHTLY …
