Winter Weather Advisory in Effect for Northern Illinois
How much snow is expected?
Written by Korrina Grom Get ready for more snow! A winter weather advisory will be in effect from 9 p.m. Thursday until 6 p.m. Friday for all of northern Illinois including the following counties: Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will. The National Weather Service in Chicago says the snow should develop by Thursday evening and continue into Friday, with snowfall amounts of 3 to 5 inches expected. "A period of heavy snow with snowfall rates of 1 inch per hour is possible late Thursday evening into the overnight hours," according to the National Weather Service.

I hope shorewood village plow drivers get a lot of OT with this storm-they do alot of nothing all year to save their energy for snow events like these.   more ›
