Truthiness, they still have the same library to use the internet, just because the referendum was soundly defeated, its still business as usual.

Truthiness, do you live at the library, is that like your home away from home, or whatever you live in. After reading your other posts, I'm starting to get the picture.

Truthiness, what I said about the water stands, I'm not going to repeat myself, but your comment about reception for the kindle and whatever, I went into the library 2 years ago to set up my connection for my e reader, took 5 minutes, and haven't been back, what reception are you talking about? Anytime I need something the internet is at my fingertips 24 hrs, 7 days a week, no need to waste gas and time going to the library. No, the time for the large brick & mortar library is long gone. The library we have now is just fine. Use it as intented, as a library, not meeting rooms, not quiet rooms for kids, just use it as a library.

Truthiness, water in the basement, oh oh, let's build a new library, you do realize there a people who can fix this? They had the money they paid for the land to use to repair, think you may be exaggerating a bit? As far as your comment for better WiFi for people who can't afford the internet, they have that available to them now in our library. You want us to pay an extra $250- $ 300 a year so they can have Mac's? The building is out of the way? Compared to what area? Many people can say the same for where the new one was supposed to go. As far as your comment about the Referendum being sold wrong, that's why it didn't pass, no, it's because it was WRONG, that's why it didn't pass!!

Your right, look at the way they worded the question "for any purpose of said Library District" How ever they see fit to spend our money is my interpretation. Now do we own that land, or do we get back the $500,000, they spent on it? Anyone know?

If the Shorewood- Troy library trustees came away with anything from the results, it better be that they now know we do NOT want any tax increase in any way, shape or form to build a new library. They aimed for the moon with our tax dollars, playing with people's livelihood, and for this they should be ashamed. I read several articles where it was said we didn't really hear anybody angry or upset about the tax law, we'll now did you hear it? I also want to say thank you to all the people who came out and voted NO on this. Hopefully this would end it, but somehow I doubt it.

How hard would it be for the city to go up to 12? Not that hard, IF they want to. I agree with what you said about the city not owning up to how they really feel, and I understand you want to do the most good for the greater number of people, and that's just what they did when the few of them sacrificed for all of us. This could have been worked out.

Jerry, I understand what your saying, to them its about the almighty dollar, but to me, veterans are the reason the council has the freedom to make these decisions. Its not easy to adjust when you come home, and sometimes people just need a little help, and I think we owe them that. I think you could put them first, and still work on the other at the same time.

Jerry, you said " they don't care about veterans " is an unfair statement, would " they care about veterans, but they care more about the evergreen terrace issue more ". Would that be a true or false statement ?
