Shorewood Chamber of Commerce Will Help Empower Women

The Shorewood Chamber of Commerce is a moving force in this week's landmark women's symposium.

The Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce is a driving force in organizing the first-ever Illinois Women's Power Symposium.

The symposium will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the Quality Inn in Morris. Registration starts at 8 a.m.

According to a description of the program, the Illinois Women's Power Symposium is a multifaceted event led by powerful women leaders from across the United States in keynote and hands-on workshop presentations geared toward motivating, empowering an d activating more than 100 women from across the state.

The symposium includes an Expo-marketplace where attendees have access to services and products that support women in embracing their true leadership potential.

Keynote speakers include Seattle Sutton of Seattle Sutton's Healthy Eating, attorney Traci Ellis, author Jacqueline Camacho-Ruiz, Dee Reinhardt of the Kane County Department of Education and Empowerment, and Darlene Ziebell, the president of the Center for Women Business Owners.
