Child Struck by Hit-&-Run Driver on Comstock in 'Very Critical Condition': Cops

The 11-year-old boy was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

An 11-year-old boy was in "very critical condition" three days after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver on Comstock Street, police said.

The child was crossing Comstock about 6:30 p.m. Friday when he was hit by what police said was possibly a mid-size, light-colored sport utility vehicle.

The vehicle was heading north when it hit the boy and continued on in that direction without stopping.

The child was airlifted to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and remained there Monday, police said. He sustained brain swelling and a broken femur, police said.
