Joliet Man Jailed On Drug Jolt

The sharp-eyed Shorewood cops nailed a Joliet man on a felony drug charge, but he walked out of custody without putting up any money for bond.

The Shorewood cops reportedly ran down a speeder who tried in vain to get away from a police pursuit early Sunday morning.

Thomas Jay Green, 19, of 924 Vine St. in Joliet was arrested in the first minutes of Sunday morning and carted down to the county jail where he was booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance, driving on a revoked or suspended license, fleeing or attempting to elude police, and speeding.

The cops nabbed Green at the corner of Marya Lane and Raven Road, police said. Prior to his arrest, Green was allegedly traveling through the sleepy Village of Shorewood at speeds in excess of 40 mph over the posted limit.
