If any of these hotshot New York protesters even think about trying to occupy Shorewood, they better first make sure their headlights are working and they don't have warrants.

Wanted man walks up

A Joliet man wanted on a DuPage County warrant was arrested after he showed up at a traffic stop and officers checked his identification, said.

Andre Sangster, 20, of 911 Salvia Lane was taken into custody at 10 p.m. near the intersection of Black Road and Appaloosa Lane.

Sangster reportedly arrived at the scene of a traffic stop to pick someone up. The police then checked Sangster's identification and figured out he was a wanted man.

Sangster was taken in on a warrant charging him with traffic offenses. He posted bond and was released from custody.

Oct. 14

War on drugs

A Plainfield man was charged with carrying pot and drug paraphernalia during a 9 p.m. traffic stop near the intersection of Route 59 and Meadow Drive.

Michael Maki, 20, of 1912 Arbor Gate Drive was pulled over for driving around with only one headlight, police said.

Maki took a ticket for that and also was arrested on charges of possession of cannabis and possession of drug equipment.

Maki posted bond and was released from custody.

Alleged protection violation

A local man was jailed for allegedly violating an order of protection.

Dillon Harrison, 18, of 1225 Hunter Drive was arrested at the Shorewood police station about noon, then transported to the Will County jail.
