Troy Firefighters Battle Boiler Blaze

The Troy Township Fire Department put out a burning house in Shorewood.

A faulty boiler left a house on Channahon Street uninhabitable Tuesday night.

battled the 7 p.m. blaze and ultimately extinguished it, but the two-story house at 105 Channahon St. in was left uninhabitable.

Two occupants escaped the fire without injury.

The homeowners went to stay with friends, according to the fire department.

The fire department determined the blaze was sparked by a faulty boiler.

After leaving the scene of the Channahon Street fire, Troy firefighters went right to a call of a burning refrigerator in a house on Huntington Drive. That fire was out by the time they got there.
