Shorewood Animal Shelter Selling Plants to Save Strays

The Will County Humane Society is holding a plant sale to raise money for the no-kill animal shelter.

Will County's first no-kill animal shelter is holding its annual plant sale fundraiser next month.

The Will County Humane Society's plant sale is slated for on Saturday, May 7th, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 24109 W. Seil Road in Shorewood.

The cats and dogs starring in the Shorewood Patch's and of the Week features are cared for at the Will County Humane Society until they found loving forever homes.

The sale will feature a variety of indoor and outdoor plants. The event also includes a garden resale and raffles.

Money raised by the plant sale will support the Shorewood shelter's effort to help homeless cats and dogs, and the plant sale comes at a perfect time for Mother's Day gift shopping.

The Will County Humane Society is also accepting plant donations for the sale. Anyone with extra plants is encouraged to pot them and drop them off at the shelter on the Friday afternoon prior to the sale or on the day of the event.

Resale items can be dropped off during that time too. Resale items include anything a gardener might use, such as bird feeders, garden tools and supplies, decorations, and outdoor furniture.
